Parkinson's disease (PD) is "a chronic, progressive neurodegenerative disorder resulting from dopamine depletion in the brain" (1). Parkinsonism is a term that includes PD (e.g. tremor, bradykinesia, rigidity) (2) but is also caused by other conditions including multiple system atrophy (MSA), progressive supranulcear palsy (PSP), corticobasal syndrome (CBS) and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) (3).
