Disease Etiology
Gastroparesis has been defined as abnormal gastric motility and delayed gastric emptying in the absence of physical obstruction (1-3). Gastroparesis can be classified into three main groups: idiopathic gastroparesis (36% of cases), diabetic gastroparesis (29%) and postsurgical gastroparesis (13%) (4).
