Goals
Goals include achieving:
- good nutritional status, both immediately after surgery and beyond
- good hydration status postoperatively and beyond
- adjusting diet to help control gas and odour, if necessary
- avoiding unnecessary dietary restrictions
- reduce risk of postoperative ileostomy stoma blockage.
