Goals for an individual with hereditary hemochromatosis should be determined in conjunction with the client and should be specific to the individual. Goals that are set should be time-sensitive, easily measured and achievable by the nutrition intervention. Both short-term and long-term goals may be set. Examples of short- and long-term goals include:    
  • to increase the variety of foods, so a balanced diet is eaten (in an individual who has been excessively restricting foods to decrease the iron
