International Guidelines on Drinking Water – Chlorine Collection

  • WHO has set a guideline of a maximum value of 5 mg/L for chlorine as a residual disinfectant in drinking water.
  • The Australian Drinking Water Guidelines requires that the level of chlorine in drinking water should not exceed 5 mg/L (5 parts per million).
  • Trihalomethanes (THM) guidelines are set at 0.250 mg/L.
